Our original member-spotlight announcement appeared in 2013. It proposed a monthly feature celebrating people who helped bring the community to life. The dated calendar artwork has now been refreshed while keeping the original design. This page is an invitation to think about what a worthwhile spotlight should recognize.

Contribution means more than popularity

A welcoming introduction, a thoughtful answer to a newcomer's question and respectful participation can matter more than a large number of posts. Good community members make space for different experiences and do not treat attention as something another person owes them.

Recognition should be voluntary

Before sharing a person's story, photograph or profile, obtain their permission for the specific publication. A public profile is not blanket consent to feature someone in an article or advertisement. People should be able to decline recognition without needing to explain why.

A useful spotlight can focus on interests, lessons learned and practical advice for newcomers. It should avoid publishing private conversations, identifying details about other people, or assumptions about anyone's relationships.

Suggest a story to the team

If you have a community story to suggest, contact the team with a short description. Do not send someone else's private images or medical details. The original announcement mentioned a future points system; this page does not announce current points, prizes or a guaranteed monthly selection.

Help someone feel welcome today

You do not need an award to make a difference. Answer a question kindly, introduce yourself in a relevant group, or share a helpful resource with appropriate context. Consistent respect is what makes a community worth returning to.
